Lift Yourself Up

I’ve never been a fan of exercise. I like to hike. I like to bike. But running? Count me out.

Enter: weight lifting. I started lifting weights years ago, and then stopped for too long. I picked it up again this year and forgot how much I love it. It makes me feel strong, both mentally and physically. I actually look forward to going to the gym, which is a new development. I started going with my husband, Nathaniel, because I was anxious about performing an exercise incorrectly and making a fool of myself. But after a while, I started going alone. I created routines for myself. I researched products and expanded my workout wardrobe. I even started jogging a bit, because I’m on that endorphin high after I lift and I want to keep it going.

Gym selfies to keep myself accountable!

Things I’m loving:

And of course, a Spotify playlist that pumps me up every time I lift. I could share mine (and I will if you ask for it), but I believe that everyone needs their own “something” that energizes them.

So, what energizes you?
